Journal history and basic info:

Central European Public Administration Review was launched in 2018 by Faculty of Public Administration, University of Ljubljana. Its first title “Administration”, launched in 2003, was later changed to “International Public Administration Review”. In 2018, it was revised again to address predominantly central European administrative space.

The journal is indexed and referred to by ESCI (Emerging Sources Citation Index, Clarivate Analytics), HeinOnline, ECONLIT, CNKI SCHOLAR, EBSCO, IPSA, IBSS, WPSA, SSRN, CSA Proquest, ERIH+, ULRICH's and Google Scholar.
The publisher of the journal is a member of COPE - Committee on Publication Ethics,  the European Association of Science Editors (EASE) and OpenAIRE.

The journal is also a member of CEE Network of Public Administration and Policy Journals.

The journal and its articles are permanently archived in a repository The Digital Library of Slovenia and Repository of the University of Ljubljana.
The journal adheres to COPE ethical standards of best practice of journal policy.

Distinguished internationally affiliated members of the advisory board develop review’s policy, enhance the journal’s promotion and act as reviewers, while the editor-in-chief, field editors and technical editor take care of the implementation of policy through daily activities and contacts with authors and reviewers.

Publication Frequency

The journal is issued semi-annually in May and November in English.


Open Access Policy

CEPAR is an open access journal and does not charge readers or their institutions for access to the journal articles. The open access supports the rights of users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles provided they are properly acknowledged and cited. There is no article processing fee charged to the authors and articles are immediately available on the journal website once published.

All the published articles are double blind peer-reviewed and screened with plagiarism detection tools (Turnitin); content match of less than 20% is considered acceptable. Reviews are delivered promptly. Accepted papers are published in  approximately three to six months from submission.
